During a flying visit to Whistler John managed to pack in days in the bike park, XC riding, a trip to the original North Shore in Vancouver, helibiking down Rainbow mountain (Bear Back and West Coast were much cheaper than their competitors) and lots of other good stuff too.

I was going to write a long account of the week, but fortuantely I was on a scouting mission with What Mountain Bike Magazine and so the lovely chaps at Bear Back Biking have done it for me. (Click here for details).

All I need to say is a huge thank you to Jonny and Mark at Bear Back Biking for a fantastic week of riding. Everything was well organised, very affordable despite Whistler's reputation of being expensive and nothing was too much trouble. They are both strong cross country riders and can hold their own on the Freeride/Downhill stuff too.

Another big thank you to Michael and Brian from West Coast Freeride Guides. Both are locals to the Whistler and Vancouver area. During my stay they introduced me to the joys of Freeriding. Within days I was riding stuff I wouldn't want to walk down on my Enduro. The helibiking was a truely amazing experience and I'd recommend that anyone who goes to Whistler should give it a go!

The only problem is I now need to return for the Looney race and to complete the other bike park trails that I haven't touched yet! :)
